How to flash the Moment
I did not come up with this, I do not take credit.
Prerequisites
- Choose a custom kernel from SDX-developers
- Phone that has the CL14 update already installed on it
Step 1. After installing the Sprint CL14 Updater, and making sure you have all other Samsung Moment drivers uninstalled, go into the binary folder which is located at C:\Program Files\Samsung Electronics\SWUpgrade\Models\Binary
Step 2. Move the CL14 update file (SPH-M900_CL14_MR.tar) somewhere else (I have a folder called Kernels on my desktop I store all the kernels I’ve installed)
Step 3. Move the kernel or ROM you want to flash and put it in that binary folder. (The only file in that folder should be the kernel or ROM you are installing)
Step 4. Run SWUpgrade that is on your desktop. Follow the steps and at the end hit that Start Download button. Once that is completed you are done.
To check to see if the flash was successful, once you are booted back into your phone hit Menu/Settings/About Phone. In here we want to check for Build number which will list the name and version of the kernel or ROM you just installed.
How to install the HTC Hero Virtual Keyboard
I did not come up with this, I do not take credit.
Step 1. Go to the Market and download ‘AppManager’
Step 2. Download the Hero Virtual Keyboard Files to your computer.
Step 3. Mount your phone to your pc, and move the HTC_IME.apk and Clicker.apk to your sd card.
Step 4. Open AppManager, press the menu key, and select ‘Install from SD’. There you can install the .apks file. If the file is not visible, press menu again, and select ‘Whole SD’ so that you can see the file.
Step 5. Go to your home > Settings > Locale & text. Select ‘Touch Input’.
Step 6. Go to someplace where you input text, such as messaging. Long-press on the text input field, and select ‘Input Method’. Select ‘Touch Input’.
